Group Director, Fashion Client Intelligence

About the role:

CHANEL is looking for a Group Director with high intellectual curiosity to join the Fashion Client Intelligence Team in New York. You will play a leading role in leveraging client data to drive critical initiatives and deepen Chanel’s understanding of client behavior through rich storytelling. This role interfaces with multiple teams across the division and is a key partner for the corporate & retail fashion teams. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience and a passion for working with data analysis in a highly collaborative environment.

Client Insights & Talent Development

  • In this role, you will be responsible for the professional development of a direct report, creating opportunities for them to learn and gain visibility across the organization.
  • Transform complex client analyses into clear, concise, and visually engaging PowerPoint presentations, influencing stakeholders through compelling data-driven narratives.
  • Use product knowledge of our systems, tools, and the client database to identify and implement innovative approaches to client analysis, creating insightful reports that enable data-driven decisions for home office partners, and proactively explore and implement automation opportunities to enhance efficiency.

Strategic Retail and Cross-Functional Relationships

  • Drive strategic collaboration with key home office partners (VIC, Fashion Expertise, Events, Retail Operations, select Merchandising teams) to support respective team goals and strategies with client data.
  • Provide senior-level thought leadership with respect to Client Data, influencing strategy and initiatives at the most senior levels of the Fashion Division.
  • Partner with Head of Retail and Regional Heads of Retail to develop and implement strategies that dynamically support boutiques with complex client reporting needs and initiatives.
  • Manage relationship and spend time with select regional boutique teams to understand their individual needs and collaborate on ways to support Fashion Advisors with client data and client tools.

Technology Proficiency & Innovation

  • Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of current client data tools, and proactively identify and communicate process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of reporting and segmentation tools.
  • Accelerate strength of the Client Database by leading roll-out of constant enhancements from concept to delivery to meet the evolving needs of business partners, collaborating with Fashion teams and managing the full Sprint development process in close partnership with Tech.
  • Design and optimize internal and boutique-facing BI tools to proactively address the needs of the Boutique and Home Office teams, delivering actionable data insights and client lists, and enhancing the user experience.
  • Lead the development of innovative products by bridging the gap between marketing teams' business requirements and technical specifications, translating client journeys into actionable requirements supported by Tech.
  • Contribute to the success of Fashion retail technology innovation by providing strategic input on requirements, training, and launch, ensuring a clear Client Intelligence perspective that aligns tool development with Fashion client behavior insights and database needs.

Position Logistics:

  • Power BI Experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a data-driven role, ideally working with luxury and/or global brands.
  • Partially Remote: Role requires a minimum of three days in-person office presence at the designated location/office.

Compensation:

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $134,900 through $170,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay [may/will] be offered for this position. Other components [may/will] include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.
