Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a part-time Group Facilitator in New Orleans, LA. You will lead group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups, while helping clients build coping skills and recovery tools.

Work alongside clinical staff to track progress, document sessions, and maintain confidentiality. Bachelor’s in psychology or related field is required; state licensure/certification is necessary, with Master’s preferred.

• Substance abuse experience required
• Strong observational, collaborative and interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to set strong boundaries and maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Conduct group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups designed to meet each client’s challenges and needs
• Assist clients in developing healthy coping skills, positive behaviors, and recovery tools
• Collaborate consistently with clinical staff to keep track of client challenges and progress
• Escalate any significant client concerns to Clinical Director
• Maintain thorough documentation of all group sessions conducted
• Ensure all clinical assessments and individual client charting is completed

Now hiring a part-time Group Facilitator

Shifts: 12pm - 5pm

8:30am - 2:00pm

What You\'ll Do

• Conduct group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups designed to meet each client\'s challenges and needs
• Assist clients in developing healthy coping skills, positive behaviors, and recovery tools

What We\'re Looking For

• Bachelor\'s degree in psychology, counseling or related field required. Master\'s degree preferred.
• Valid state licensure / certification necessary to practice in this role, i.e. CIT, RAC, CAC, LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, or LPC
• Substance abuse experience required
• Excellent observational, collaborative and interpersonal skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Compassionate, dignified character which models recovery principles
• Ability to set strong boundaries and maintain absolute confidentiality
