American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) is seeking a specialized Corporate Travel Counselor to deliver high-touch service for VIP travelers. You will manage both domestic and international travel arrangements with expert Sabre skills and destination knowledge.

The role requires 5+ years in VIP travel counseling, bilingual ability (English plus French or Spanish), and strong international reservations experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of VIP corporate travel counselor experience.
• Bi-Lingual English/French or English/Spanish.
• Strong international reservations experience.
• Knowledge of Sabre (GDS) is required.
• Knowledge of American Express POS tools: SBP, Quick Exchange, Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Act as the point of sale on all domestic and international travel reservations (air, complex flights) using Sabre.
• Provide consultative advice and recommendations for VIP travelers within policy constraints.
• Operate in a multi-channel environment with KPIs for customer satisfaction and productivity.
• Use professional service techniques to handle special requests and maintain client relationships.
• Adhere to company ethics, values, and compliance guidelines.

As an Amex GBT Specialized Corporate Travel Counselor, this person will provide a specialized servicing to client travelers that will require high touch service. The Travel Counselor should be prepared to offer a unique level of service, outstanding GDS skills, as well as vast destination knowledge. This Travel Counselor will be accountable for both individual goals, as well as shared team goals, and will be responsible for providing customer service and accurate completion of both international, domestic travel arrangements, and special requests.

What You’ll Do on a Typical Day

• Act as the point of sale on all Domestic & International travel reservations, arranging both routine and complex air and utilizing native Sabre
• Provide consultative advice, solutions, and recommendations for our VIP travelers, whilst ensuring adherence to the customers’ travel policy and requirements
• Operate in a multi-channel environment where you are accountable to key performance indicators of success, such as customer satisfaction, key productivity metrics, and driving key partnerships and sale of preferred partners
• Use positive telephone and email service techniques; act on special customer requests and maintain excellent client relations.
• Express enthusiasm and energy within the organization and always act according to company Ethics, Values, and Compliance guidelines
• Act in accordance with all Amex GBT policies and procedures

What We’re Looking For

• Must have at least 5+ years of VIP corporate travel counselor experience.
• Bi-Lingual English/French or English/Spanish
• Strong international reservations experience.
• Knowledge GDS experience is required, Sabre experience is a must
• Knowledge of American Express Point of Sales (POS) tools; including but not limited to SBP, Quick Exchange, Salesforce.
• Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong organizational and ability to multitask.
• Demonstrates problem solving skills.
• Ability to manage change effectively.
• Ability to manage workflow in a highly complex & fast changing environment.
• Displays highest level of integrity when dealing with internal & external customers.

The US national base salary range for this position is from

$46,200.00 - $85,800.00

The national range provided includes the base salary that Amex GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
