American Express Global Travel is seeking a specialized Corporate Travel Counselor in the United States to provide high-touch service for VIP travelers, managing domestic and international air itineraries with Sabre while ensuring policy compliance.

You will leverage destination knowledge, strong communication, and problem-solving skills to exceed client expectations and build lasting relationships with travelers and partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of VIP corporate travel counselor experience.
• Fluent in English with French or Spanish language skills.
• Strong international reservations experience with GDS Sabre.
• Knowledge of POS tools such as SBP, Quick Exchange, Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Act as the point of sale for domestic and international travel reservations, including complex air itineraries using Sabre.
• Provide consultative advice and ensure adherence to travel policy and client requirements.
• Maintain excellent client relations and respond to special requests in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively and resolve conflicts to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Operate in a fast-paced, multi-channel environment while meeting KPIs for service quality.
• Adhere to Amex GBT policies, ethics, and compliance guidelines.

As an Amex GBT Specialized Corporate Travel Counselor, this person will provide a specialized servicing to client travelers that will require high touch service. The Travel Counselor should be prepared to offer a unique level of service, outstanding GDS skills, as well as vast destination knowledge. This Travel Counselor will be accountable for both individual goals, as well as shared team goals, and will be responsible for providing customer service and accurate completion of both international, domestic travel arrangements, and special requests.

What You’ll Do on a Typical Day

• Act as the point of sale on all Domestic & International travel reservations, arranging both routine and complex air and utilizing native Sabre
• Provide consultative advice, solutions, and recommendations for our VIP travelers, whilst ensuring adherence to the customers’ travel policy and requirements
• Operate in a multi-channel environment where you are accountable to key performance indicators of success, such as customer satisfaction, key productivity metrics, and driving key partnerships and sale of preferred partners
• Use positive telephone and email service techniques; act on special customer requests and maintain excellent client relations.
• Express enthusiasm and energy within the organization and always act according to company Ethics, Values, and Compliance guidelines
• Act in accordance with all Amex GBT policies and procedures

What We’re Looking For

• Must have at least 5+ years of VIP corporate travel counselor experience.
• Bi-Lingual English/French or English/Spanish
• Strong international reservations experience.
• Knowledge GDS experience is required, Sabre experience is a must
• Knowledge of American Express Point of Sales (POS) tools; including but not limited to SBP, Quick Exchange, Salesforce.
• Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong organizational and ability to multitask.
• Demonstrates problem solving skills.
• Ability to manage change effectively.
• Ability to manage workflow in a highly complex & fast changing environment.
• Displays highest level of integrity when dealing with internal & external customers.

The US national base salary range for this position is from

$46,200.00 - $85,800.00

The national range provided includes the base salary that Amex GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
