Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking a Specialized Corporate Travel Counselor to provide high-touch service to VIP travelers, applying extensive destination knowledge and top-tier GDS skills for both international and domestic bookings and special requests.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of VIP travel experience, be bilingual in English plus French or Spanish, and demonstrate strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities in a fast-changing environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of VIP corporate travel counselor experience.
• Bi-Lingual English/French or English/Spanish.
• Strong international reservations experience.
• Knowledge GDS experience; Sabre is a must.
• Knowledge of POS tools incl. SBP, Quick Exchange, Salesforce.
• Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Demonstrates problem solving skills.
• Ability to manage change in a fast-changing environment.
• Highest level of integrity in dealings with customers.

Responsibilities

• Act as the point of sale on all Domestic & International travel reservations, arranging both routine and complex air using Sabre.
• Provide consultative advice and recommendations for VIP travelers while adhering to travel policy.
• Operate in a multi-channel environment meeting KPIs like customer satisfaction and productivity.
• Use telephone and email service techniques; handle special requests and maintain client relations.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm and act according to Ethics, Values, and Compliance guidelines.
• Comply with Amex GBT policies and procedures.

As an Amex GBT Specialized Corporate Travel Counselor, this person will provide a specialized servicing to client travelers that will require high touch service. The Travel Counselor should be prepared to offer a unique level of service, outstanding GDS skills, as well as vast destination knowledge. This Travel Counselor will be accountable for both individual goals, as well as shared team goals, and will be responsible for providing customer service and accurate completion of both international, domestic travel arrangements, and special requests.

What You’ll Do on a Typical Day

• Act as the point of sale on all Domestic & International travel reservations, arranging both routine and complex air and utilizing native Sabre
• Provide consultative advice, solutions, and recommendations for our VIP travelers, whilst ensuring adherence to the customers’ travel policy and requirements
• Operate in a multi-channel environment where you are accountable to key performance indicators of success, such as customer satisfaction, key productivity metrics, and driving key partnerships and sale of preferred partners
• Use positive telephone and email service techniques; act on special customer requests and maintain excellent client relations.
• Express enthusiasm and energy within the organization and always act according to company Ethics, Values, and Compliance guidelines
• Act in accordance with all Amex GBT policies and procedures

What We’re Looking For

• Must have at least 5+ years of VIP corporate travel counselor experience.
• Bi-Lingual English/French or English/Spanish
• Strong international reservations experience.
• Knowledge GDS experience is required, Sabre experience is a must
• Knowledge of American Express Point of Sales (POS) tools; including but not limited to SBP, Quick Exchange, Salesforce.
• Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong organizational and ability to multitask.
• Demonstrates problem solving skills.
• Ability to manage change effectively.
• Ability to manage workflow in a highly complex & fast changing environment.
• Displays highest level of integrity when dealing with internal & external customers.

The US national base salary range for this position is from

$46,200.00 - $85,800.00

The national range provided includes the base salary that Amex GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
