Job summary

Lewis Tree Service is hiring a Groundperson to support vegetation management for utility partners and customers. You will work outdoors, clear vegetation, and handle equipment alongside tree crews. This role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, operating multiple tools, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Groundperson certification (or ability to complete).
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions - lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
• CPR/First Aid certification (provided by Lewis) - Herbicide applicator certification (or ability to complete).
• Team player attitude, adaptability, and a strong work ethic.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state, local, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Clear vegetation around work sites and near power lines.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, blowers, and sprayers.
• Assist climbers from the ground, hand up tools, and use hand lines.
• Assist with rigging and felling of trees.
• Set up traffic control zones and direct traffic as needed.
• Travel frequently to different job sites and participate in safety briefings.
