Job summary

Southern-Management-Companies is seeking a Grounds Person to maintain curb appeal and ensure safety across our communities. This full-time role covers groundskeeping, trash removal, exterior maintenance, and minor repairs.

Schedule is Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with every other Saturday 8:00 AM–10:00 PM. Requires HS diploma or GED, ability to lift 80 lbs, and clear communication. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life/AD&D, 401(k), paid holidays, and continuing education.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of all community common areas in accordance with internal quality control standards.
• Ensure sidewalks, parking areas, and building interiors are free of trash and debris.
• Perform daily audits of community grounds and report findings to management.
• Assist with apartment turnover processes as needed.
• Test smoke detectors in all vacant apartments.
• Maintain positive relationships with team members and customers; contribute to engagement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.

Job description

Maintain the overall curb appeal, cleanliness, and appearance of the community by performing groundskeeping duties, trash removal, and exterior maintenance. This role includes completing minor repairs throughout the property, assisting with snow and ice removal as needed, and carrying out other assigned responsibilities to support the safe and efficient operation of the community. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with every other Saturday from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We're seeking a Grounds Person with whatever-it-takes approach to join our team! In this full-time role, you will ensure that the physical asset is maintained in good condition and that everything is clean and sanitary. In addition, the Grounds Person is responsible for keeping an inventory of all cleaning supplies and submitting requests when supplies get low.
