Job summary

CTL Forest Management – A Ceres Company is seeking a Groundsman to support forestry operations and environmental restoration projects in outdoor, variable conditions. The role requires physical stamina, logging and forestry experience, and a valid driver’s license.

You will assist crews, handle hand tools and light equipment, and ensure safety procedures are followed. The position is based in California with potential travel and per-diem lodging when traveling, offering a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Experience in logging, forestry, landscaping, or general outdoor labor preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Demonstrated safety and productivity discipline.
• Reliable, punctual, and consistent availability.

Responsibilities

• Support logging and forestry operations including clearing, limbing, bucking support, and vegetative debris handling
• Assist with site preparation for vegetation management, fuels reduction, and revegetation projects
• Operate hand tools and light equipment including chainsaws (as qualified), pole saws, weed eaters, and brush cutting tools
• Assist equipment operators and crew members with daily production tasks
• Support loading, unloading, staging, and transport of logs, materials, and equipment
• Follow all safety practices, OSHA requirements, and worksite rules
• Work in difficult or hazardous environments including steep terrain, dense vegetation, post-fire landscapes, and extreme weather
• Complete assigned work efficiently and within project timelines
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow written and verbal instructions for task completion
• Work effectively with foremen, supervisors, and coworkers
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of field operations
