Joshua Tree Experts in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Tree Care Groundsman to join our experienced crew. You will assist in tree removal, pruning, stump grinding and chipper operations while communicating with crew and the public.

This is a hands-on, entry-to-early-career role offering full-time, year-round employment with benefits, paid vacation, holidays and sick days. A safety-focused culture and opportunities for growth await.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in Tree Care Operations.
• Valid driver's license.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to work 40 hours or more each week.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
• Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
• First Aid and CPR Certified is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist crew with equipment and vehicle preparation daily.
• Ensure that drop zones are safe for coworkers and public.
• Perform pruning and reducing.
• Safely use tree care operations equipment including gas powered saws, pole saws/clips, and chippers.
• Load and unload trucks and chippers with logs, brush and debris.
• Reports to work on time each day.
• Follow directions from crew leaders and climbers.
• Maintain professional image.
• Provide friendly and excellent customer service.
• Maintain and service equipment as needed.
• Follows safety culture and safety procedures.
• Set up safety and traffic control measures for job sites.

Grow with us! Joshua Tree Experts in Birmingham is a premier team of tree care professionals, is searching for an experienced Tree Care Groundsman.

The Groundsman works alongside a 2 to 4-person tree crew assisting in tree removal, tree pruning, stump grinding and wood chipper operations. They are responsible for all communication with crew members and the public while climbers are aloft in trees or aerial lift trucks.

Groundsmen are essential to how our crews function day to day. This is a hands-on entry-to-early-career role for someone who wants to learn the trade, work hard, and grow within a professional tree care team.

What a Tree Care Groundsman Does

• Assist crew with equipment and vehicle preparation daily
• Ensure that drop zones are safe for coworkers and public
