Job summary

Joshua Tree Experts in Raleigh is seeking an experienced Tree Care Groundsman to join a hand-on, year‑round ground crew. You will assist with equipment prep, set up safety zones, support pruning and chipping, and help load materials while staying in close communication with climbers and leaders.

Candidate should have two years in tree care, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 25 pounds and work 40+ hours weekly in various weather conditions, with strong customer service and safety

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in Tree Care Operations.
• Valid driver's license.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to work 40 hours or more each week.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
• Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Excellent ability to communicate effectively.
• First Aid and CPR Certified is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist crew with equipment and vehicle preparation daily.
• Ensure drop zones are safe for coworkers and public.
• Perform pruning and reducing.
• Safely use tree care equipment including gas powered saws, pole saws and chippers.
• Load and unload trucks and chippers with logs, brush and debris.
• Report to work on time each day.
• Follow directions from crew leaders and climbers.
• Maintain professional image.
• Provide friendly and excellent customer service.
• Maintain and service equipment as needed.
• Follow safety culture and safety procedures.
• Set up safety and traffic control measures for job sites.

Grow with us! Joshua Tree Experts in Raleigh is a premier team of tree care professionals, is searching for an experienced Tree Care Groundsman.

The Groundsman works alongside a 2 to 4-person tree crew assisting in tree removal, tree pruning, stump grinding and wood chipper operations. They are responsible for all communication with crew members and the public while climbers are aloft in trees or aerial lift trucks.

Groundsmen are essential to how our crews function day to day. This is a hands‑on entry‑to‑early‑career role for someone who wants to learn the trade, work hard, and grow within a professional tree care team.

What a Tree Care Groundsman does:
