Job summary

Pilgrim in Texas is seeking a skilled utilities technician to coordinate projects, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot complex utility systems. You will communicate results to stakeholders and help ensure continued reliability of critical services.

The role also involves training and mentoring new technicians, monitoring energy output, and maintaining safety across water, gas lines, electrical grids, and telecom networks. On-site work requires following SOPs and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related industrial operations experience
• Performs work per standard operating and maintenance procedures with safety rules
• Gains knowledge of all plant processes and equipment
• Understands regulatory requirements including environmental and HSE
• Demonstrates mechanical ability
• Learns and follows national/local SOPs

Responsibilities

• Coordinating projects and communicating results of finished projects.
• Performing preventive maintenance.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment and system malfunctions.
• Conducting training and mentoring new utility technicians.
• Monitoring and regulating energy output for a utility company.
• Ensuring proper functioning and safety of utility systems such as water and gas lines, electrical power grids, and telecommunications networks.
• Clean, lubricate, adjust and repair machinery and equipment
• Disassemble machinery to inspect for defects and replace compromised components
• Study blueprints and manufacturers manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery
• Maintenance - routine activities
• The position actively follows regulatory agency compliance requirements, supports the Company and goal objectives, the department quality improvement and operating goals, principles goals, individually and as an effective team member
• Actively pursuing own growth/career development through self-initiative practices
• Determines if immediate maintenance action is required
• Escorting on-site contractors, vendors, guests, or visitors throughout facility as needed

• Identify all aspects of utility-related issues

Desired experience for utilities technician includes: *

• 2+ years of related industrial operations experience


• Performs all work in compliance with standard operating/maintenance procedures, utilizing current Life Saving Rules, Safe Start and safety requirements including safe work permits, energy control isolation, IDLs, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre-job discussions, plant safety inspections


• Acquiring knowledge/ability in all plant operations including processes/equipment


• Exhibits understanding of governmental regulations including environmental permitting/compliance, loading /quality assurance, basic electricity, national/local operating procedures, CMMS, maintenance management process, all HSE issues associated with the facility


• Exhibits mechanical ability


• Ability to learn/follow national/local standard operating procedures
