Job summary

The Pittsburgh Pirates are seeking a Groundskeeper Team Member for Florida Operations, responsible for assisting in maintaining baseball fields at Pirate City and LECOM Park in Bradenton, FL.

Responsibilities include turf care, irrigation/ drainage maintenance, equipment inspection and repairs, and supporting game-day setup and post-game cleanup. Qualifications include 18+ age, 1–3 years groundskeeping experience, a valid driver’s license, HS diploma, and bilingual Spanish/English.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• 1-3 years prior experience in groundskeeping, lawn maintenance or athletic field maintenance.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all field areas per the direction of the Grounds Manager, including the turf, pitchers’ mounds, bases and chalk lines.
• Maintain and repair irrigation and drainage system as needed.
• Inspect machinery before and after use and keep in workable condition.
• Repair equipment as needed and report all repairs and broken equipment to the Grounds Manager immediately.
• Be proactive in maintaining a safe environment at LECOM Park and at Pirate City Complex for all residents and visitors.
• Adhere to maintenance procedures that ensure all equipment is operating as it should.
• Assist with game day and event preparation including baseball fields, batting practice, pre-game set up and break down, post-game cleanup and non-baseball-related events.
