Job summary

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities in Florida is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain campus grounds, operate riding mowers and other equipment, and support outdoor maintenance tasks.

You will perform routine mowing, fence row clearing, safety checks, trash removal, and basic preventative maintenance; a valid driver’s license is required, and some emergency coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of lawn mowers, tractors, and various outdoor groundskeeping equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to use lawn mowers, tractors, edgers and weed eaters.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Operate a backhoe and forklift.

Responsibilities

• Mowing with riding mower, tractor and/or large mowers.
• Clean fence rows and level grounds for new fences or planting.
• Ensure campus is clean and safe; practice safety when operating equipment.
• Pick up trash around campus and dispose of it properly, including bio-hazardous materials.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and replace belts or sharpen blades as needed.
