Job summary

The Cobb County School District in Marietta, GA is seeking a Groundskeeper to support Maintenance Services. This on-site role works under the supervision of the head groundskeeper to fulfill grounds maintenance requests and related tasks.

Responsibilities include routine duties, equipment operation, and timely completion of work orders, with a bi-weekly pay schedule and hourly Classified pay. Qualifying applicants should have a valid Georgia driver's license and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Educational level None
• Valid Georgia driver’s license required
• 1 year experience in lawn care/landscaping preferred
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds and navigate stairs
• Proficient in safe operation of grounds equipment

Responsibilities

• Takes direction from head groundskeeper and completes assigned work promptly
• Promotes positive relations with customers and peers
• Provides on-call support as needed
• Maintains accurate paperwork for maintenance databases and state/local requirements
• Manages inventory and maintains district vehicle/tools for maintenance tasks
• Repairs, inspects, and installs equipment as assigned
• Initiates and completes projects in a timely, accurate manner
• Reports safety issues to the administrator
