Job summary

Kendal at Oberlin is a full-service life plan community serving older adults in the Quaker tradition, providing healthcare including nursing, memory care and assisted living. We seek a PRN Groundskeeper to assist with landscaping, grounds, roads, walkways, trash removal, recycling and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities include operating grounds equipment, maintaining plants, pressure washing, snow and ice removal, and relief coverage for Security/Watch and Transportation staff.

Qualifications

• Valid operator's license and insurability with Kendal's insurance carrier.
• Strong organizational skills and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Physical ability to walk long distances, dig, shovel, climb, bend, push, stoop, pull, crawl, lift and carry heavy weights and operate grounds power equipment.
• Significant experience with snow & ice control and removal.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate, use and maintain yard tools and grounds power equipment.
• Maintain plants and grounds through mowing, trimming, planting, seeding, fertilizing, weeding and irrigation.
• Assist with pressure washing, mulching, mowing, weeding and leaf clean up.
• Maintain clear roads and walkways of ice and snow by plowing, operating snow blowers, shoveling and spreading salt & ice melt.
• Serve as primary relief for evening, night and weekend Security/Watch staff.
• Serve as primary relief for Transportation Staff.
