Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking an entry-level groundskeeper to maintain the grounds at cemetery or funeral home locations. You will mow, water, trim shrubs, and keep appearances, including handling interments when part of a team.

Work outdoors in all weather; operate lawn and grounds equipment such as mowers, snow blowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers; assist in openings/closings for interments, assist in grave layout, may perform minor repairs; follow safety and OSHA guidelines;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass, plows snow, waters lawns, fertilizes and trims shrubs; tends flower beds; inspects areas for standards.
• Operates lawn and grounds equipment (mowers, snow blowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers).
• Assists in openings/closings for interments and inurnments; moves and installs burial vaults; follows safety and regulatory guidelines.

Performs all groundskeeping and maintenance matters on the properties and maintains the overall appearance of a cemetery, mausoleum or funeral home location. Incumbent gains an understanding of how a cemetery operates.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESMows grass, plows snow, waters lawns, fertilizes and trims shrubs, tends flower beds and regularly inspects assigned work areas to ensure proper standards are maintainedOperates lawn and grounds equipment including push and power mowers, snow blowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers and other related power equipmentRemoves debris and trash from grounds.
