Service Corporation International is seeking an entry-level Groundskeeper to maintain the grounds at cemetery or funeral home locations. The role involves mowing, snow removal, planting, and operating various grounds equipment to preserve exterior appearance.

You will assist with interment logistics, ensure safety compliance, and support team tasks across sites. High school diploma required; 6 months related experience preferred; physical and weather-resilient workers encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Funeral industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass, plows snow, waters lawns, fertilizes and trims shrubs, tends flower beds and inspects work areas.
• Operates lawn and grounds equipment including mowers, snow blowers, weed eaters and leaf blowers.
• Removes debris and trash from grounds; assists in interment-related activities when needed.
• Performs minor repairs to cemetery/building systems or equipment; assists in moving burial vaults.

Performs all groundskeeping and maintenance matters on the properties and maintains the overall appearance of a cemetery, mausoleum or funeral home location. Incumbent gains an understanding of how a cemetery operates.**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*** Mows grass, plows snow, waters lawns, fertilizes and trims shrubs, tends flower beds and regularly inspects assigned work areas to ensure proper standards are maintained* Operates lawn and grounds equipment including push and power mowers, snow blowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers and other related power equipment* Removes debris and trash from grounds.
