Job summary

Laurel Circle is seeking a Groundskeeper/Maintenance Tech in Massachusetts to maintain lawns, plantings, and resident gardens, supporting a caring senior living community.

You will assist maintenance staff, perform preventive and emergency tasks, and help keep facilities safe and well‑kept, with shifts including every other weekend. A professional, team‑oriented attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED required.
• Technical training in mechanics, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, or HVAC desired.
• Grounds or maintenance experience required.
• Two years' experience in painting and housing/commercial refurbishment desired.
• Two years' experience in a similar maintenance position desired.

Responsibilities

• Water plants for residents.
• Assist with coordinating community committee requests.
• Ensure walkways/parking lots are clear and safe during inclement weather.
• Ensure all equipment is in safe operating order.
• Perform all work assignments and work orders timely and professionally.
• Assist in periodic inspection of the community to ensure a safe environment.
• Participate in in-service training and education programs as scheduled.
• Assist with directing traffic and parking during events.
• Wash company truck and maintain interior/exterior.
• Assist with trash removal from buildings.
• Help with minor inside tasks and deliveries.
• Restore vacant units to “like new” condition.
• Check shipments and deliveries from vendors.
• Communicate with vendors, contractors, and corporate office as needed.

We’re Looking for a Groundskeeper/Maintenance Tech

As the Groundskeeper, you will be responsible for trimming/pruning bushes, planting flowers, shrubs for resident’s garden if requested.

Assists all maintenance personnel in the short term, preventative and emergency maintenance programs for the buildings, grounds and equipment at the campus.

This is a full-time position which includes every other weekend. Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Groundskeeper/Maintenance Tech:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Waters plants for residents
• Assists with coordinating community committee requests.
• Ensures walkways/parking lots are clear and safe during inclement weather. Cleaning off cars after snow storms.
• Ensures all equipment is in safe operating order.
• Performs all work assignments and work orders in a timely, professional manner.
• Assists in periodic inspection of the community to ensure a safe environment for Team Members, residents and guests.
• Participates in and attends in-service training and education programs as scheduled.
• Assists with directing traffic, parking cars during events
• Washing company truck, maintain inside and out
• Assists with trash removal from buildings
• Helps with minor inside tasks, delivering mail, packages.
• Restores vacant units to “like new” condition (including but not limited to the stripping of walls and flooring, repainting surfaces, removing carpet, replacing glass and windows, patching sheetrock, cutting and replacing interior and exterior trim, hanging doors, and replacing fixtures.
• Checks shipments and deliveries from vendors.
• Contacts and corresponds with vendors, contractors, associates, and corporate office team as needed.

  • Must conduct all business with a professional manner and with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to use hand tools, automatic / electrical machinery, carts, and dollies.
  • Thorough knowledge of MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and OSHA compliance.
  • Ability to exhibit efficient computer skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record as specified by the Company and by the Company’s automobile insurance carrier.
