Job summary

Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified Groundskeeper candidates to maintain and develop grounds, shrubbery and plants, including irrigation system upkeep and repairs.

The role requires minimal experience and includes operating various gardening tools, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring grounds are well-kept under supervision with room for initiative.

Qualifications

• Three (3) months experience in landscape maintenance or closely related experience.
• Valid Florida Class E Driver's License.
• Ability to secure and maintain a TWIC within 60 days of employment.
• Ability to secure and maintain Seaport Business Purpose Credential.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass; plants and transplants shrubs; fertilizes lawn and plants; trims bushes and trees; sprays lawns and shrubs to control insects, diseases, and pests.
• Operates power mowers, trimmers, sprayers, chain saws, and other tools; maintains equipment in good working condition.
• Uses irrigation maintenance and repairs; waters plants manually as required.
• Rakes and removes grass cuttings and leaves; loads soil, sand, sod, rock, and other ground covering materials.
