Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Hawaii in Honolulu is seeking a grounds maintenance worker to care for hospital grounds, plant beds and parking areas. You will operate and monitor sprinkler systems, assist in landscape planning and maintain equipment, while following safety and environmental policies.

Responsibilities include mowing, edging, fertilizing, pesticide handling, and reporting supplies. This role requires a Driver's License and basic English literacy; experience in groundskeeping is preferred.

Qualifications

• Three months related groundskeeping experience.
• Completion of grammar school or equivalent may be considered in lieu of requirements.
• Driver's license from any state required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Vacuums and cleans debris in parking lot areas.
• Weeds, mows, trims, cleans and rakes lawn and plant beds; waters areas.
• Fertilizes, applies pesticides per policies; handles chemicals per rules.
• Inspects and repairs sprinkler/irrigation systems; supports water conservation.
• Designs landscape plans as directed; plants vegetation and replaces damaged plants.
• Maintains exterior drains; cleans and flushes as necessary.
• Maintains and repairs small gas-powered equipment.
• Reports supplies and tools required for grounds maintenance.
• Demonstrates knowledge for culturally sensitive care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
