Job summary

University of Louisville is seeking a Groundskeeper II to maintain lawns and landscape on Belknap Campus. The role involves mowing, edging, planting, mulching, and applying weed and insect control in accordance with state laws.

You will operate commercial landscaping equipment and may be assigned to night or weekend shifts during winter breaks and emergencies. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED with two years’ experience, a valid driver’s license, and a Kentucky pesticide

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with two years of relevant experience or equivalent.
Pre-employment physical exam required.
Valid driver’s license and insurability by University’s insurer.
Kentucky applicator’s license to handle pesticides.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
May require nights/weekends/holidays and variable weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Maintain lawns and landscape including planting, trimming, mowing, seeding and fertilizing.
Care for trees, shrubs, and ornamental grasses; apply mulch and manage weed/insect control as needed.
Operate and maintain all grounds equipment and perform safety checks.
Remove snow/ice and provide emergency response as required.
