Job summary

Forest Greens Golf Club in Triangle, VA is seeking a Groundskeeper II to support golf course maintenance and construction. This role offers hands-on training within a hospitality-focused property, with Troon Golf, a global leader in golf and community management.

You will perform skilled grounds tasks, operate small and riding equipment, assist with sod, seed, fertilizer, and course setup, and uphold safety and attendance requirements.

Qualifications

• English reading or speaking ability may be required.
• Education level may be less than high school or up to 3 months related experience.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Rakes sand traps with power rake, aerifies greens and tees.
• Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming and mowing.
• Prepares soil beds for sod, seed and vegetative material.
• Assists with fertilizer applications on tees, fairways and rough areas.
• Operates riding equipment in mowing fairways, approaches and rough.
• Operates sod cutter, trencher and tamper for routine projects.
• Performs skilled duties related to pruning, plugging, etc.
• Operates dump truck and tractors for hauling purposes.

Forest Greens Golf Club, located in Triangle, VA, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Groundskeeper II! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality-focused property organization. Pay Range: $15.00 to $18.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)

General Purpose:

Performs a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Performs skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and related tasks.

• Rakes sand traps with power rake, aerifies greens and tees.
• Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming and mowing.
• Prepares soil beds for sod, seed and vegetative material.
• Operates walking equipment in mowing greens collars and tees.
• Assists with fertilizer applications on tees, fairways and rough areas.
• Operates riding equipment in mowing fairways, approaches and rough.
• Operates sod cutter, trencher and tamper for routine projects.
• Operates dump truck and tractors for hauling purposes.
• Involved with tasks related to course detail (weed and debris clean up).
• Assists with golf course set-up procedures.
• Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris.
• Performs skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, etc.).
• Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience:

• Less than high school education; or up to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly stands, walks, sits, and uses hands, reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Regularly talks or hears. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds; up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Regularly works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and works near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally works in high, precarious places and in areas with fumes or airborne particles. Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally works in extreme heat (non-weather) and experiences vibration. Noise level is loud.

Certificates/Licenses:

• Valid Driver’s License
