Job summary

Hendry County Government in LaBelle, FL is seeking a full-time Groundskeeper to landscape and maintain grounds and facilities. You will mow, edge, plant, water, fertilize, and perform sprinkler installation and repair, plus custodial duties.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 6am–2:30pm, with County medical benefits and State Retirement. A Class E license and HS diploma are required; six months' groundskeeping experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of six months experience in commercial grounds keeping.
• Class E Driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Transports vehicles, supplies and equipment to worksites.
• Mows, edges, and trims lawns and fields with power equipment.
• Removes trash and debris; cleans parks and restrooms.
• Inspects grounds and facilities for safety; reports repairs needed.
• Digs holes, lays sod, seeds bare areas, and maintains plantings.
• Watering of lawns, trees and plants; sprinkler installation/repair.
• Applies fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides; uses proper safety measures.
• Maintains tools and equipment.
