Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the campus grounds and outdoor spaces. This full-time role involves operating lawn equipment, performing basic repairs, and assisting in landscape projects to keep facilities safe and welcoming.

You will work under the Engineering Services department, follow instructions, and demonstrate CARE values through reliable, efficient service. The position is based on site with standard daytime shifts.

Formación

• 0–3 years of related experience required.
• High school diploma strongly preferred.
• Must be able to operate power mowers, saws and related equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Operates power mowers, saws, edger's, and clippers and other equipment used in landscaping and ground maintenance.
• Operates hospital vehicle in removing debris.
• Pressure cleans patios and entrances when necessary.
• Trim foliage, cuts grass and weeds, digs holes for trees and shrubs, assists in planting trees and shrubbery, trims hedge and rakes leaves.
• Operates equipment in a safe way to prevent accidents.
• Reports immediately, malfunctions of equipment to supervisor.
• Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
• Performs all other related job duties as assigned.

Summary

Groundskeeper performs heavy manual work involving limited skills in various maintenance and construction tasks. Employees in this class perform laboring tasks requiring some acquired skills in the use of hand tools and equipment, or occasional operation of light automotive equipment. Duties may include removing, cleaning, adjusting and lubricating mechanical equipment and assisting journeymen in a variety of trade and craft areas. Employees in this classification are responsible for the upkeep and efficient operation of the tools or equipment used. Instructions are usually received orally and routine tasks are performed with considerable independence; more difficult work is performed under the supervision of a foreman or skilled craftsman. All work is subject to inspection while in progress and upon completion.

Physical Requirements

Job functions requires extended walking or standing. Must be able to climb stairs/ladder, stoop, bend, crawl and perform repetitive motions as needed. Must be able to carry objects weighing 21 to 50 pounds. Must be able to lift , push or pull objects weighing 51 to 100 pounds with the use of appropriate devices. Function requires visual acuity to perform job related activities such as: operating machines or motor vehicles and performing mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a repetitive and non-repetitive nature.
