SSC Services For Education is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain and improve the grounds and landscaping at the CCSD Grounds Service Center in North Charleston, SC. This full-time position requires a valid Non-CDL Class C driver's license and previous groundskeeping experience.

Job description

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining and improving the grounds and landscaping for the CCSD Grounds Service Center. The role includes daily maintenance, seasonal tasks, and general grounds care to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Location

CCSD Grounds – 7297 Peppermill Parkway, North Charleston, SC 29414. Other locations within the school district are available upon request.

Schedule & Compensation

Full‑time, Monday through Friday; hours may vary. Pay rate: $18.00 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service by delivering one‑on‑one attention to detail.
• Inspects common areas and reports deficiencies to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Inspects exterior property and grounds; reports deficiencies to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Mows lawns weekly during the proper season and cleans landscaping tools and equipment after each use.
• Trims bushes to maintain neat appearance and desired shape.
• Weeds flowerbeds weekly or more often if needed.
• Shovels exterior walkways during wintery weather; salts or sands icy walkways as needed.
• Contributes to the team; facilitates positive customer interactions; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees, and others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid Non‑CDL Class C driver’s license required.
• Previous groundskeeping experience is required.
