Job summary

Canadian Base Operators is seeking a dependable, hands-on worker for a full-time seasonal role to maintain airside spaces, run snow removal tasks, and support contractors in winter operations. You will operate a range of equipment, perform snow and ice removal on runways and sidewalks, and help keep fences, gates, and storage areas organized while adhering to safety protocols.

This is a winter-season position with opportunities to gain field experience in a dynamic outdoor setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Canadian Base Operators' Southport team is expanding - and we're looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining high-quality spaces.

As a proud partner of Kelowna Aerospace Defence Programs, we support the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) with essential services. In this role, you'll play a key part in keeping airfield facility grounds safe, functional and looking great during the winter months.

This full-time seasonal term position runs through the winter months from mid-October to mid-April.

What You'll Do

• Safely operate a range of equipment, machinery, and hand tools
• Maintain spaces across airside areas, remote sites, and buildings
• Support contractors with equipment operation as needed
• Roll and dye mark helicopter landing/training sites
• Maintain and repair fences and gates
• Assist with runway condition reporting and SNIC (snow & ice control) activities
• Perform snow and ice removal on runways, sidewalks, and parking areas

What You Bring

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
• 1-3 years of physically active work experience (lifting, shovelling, outdoor labour, etc.)
• A strong work ethic and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Nice to Have (but not required-we'll train you!)

• Experience with airfield equipment (snow plough, sweeper, blower)
• Experience operating loaders, scissor lifts, or snow blowers
• Familiarity with DND policies and procedures
