Job summary

Butler Hospital is seeking a dedicated groundskeeper to maintain the hospital campus in a safe, clean, and attractive condition. The role includes lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, trash removal, and assisting with moving furniture and equipment while following safety and infection control requirements.

Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, planting, and maintaining gardens and beds, operating tractors and trucks, and observing standard hospital guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform routine groundskeeping and maintenance.
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years preferred.
  • Education: High School or GED preferred.
  • Licenses: Valid RI driver’s license

  • Mows lawns, trims hedges, rakes leaves and removes refuse.
  • Plants and maintains flower beds, bushes, trees, etc.
  • Shovels and plows snow as needed.
  • Operates grounds equipment such as tractors and trucks.
  • Removes trash and assists with moving furniture and equipment as required.
  • Observes hospital safety, infection control policies and procedures.

Job Summary

Maintains hospital grounds in a safe, clean, and attractive condition. Performs lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, trash removal, and related support duties. Operates grounds equipment and assists with moving furniture and equipment as needed while following hospital safety, infection control, and policy requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Mows lawns, trims hedges, and rakes and removes leaves and refuse.
  • Plants and maintains flower beds, bushes, trees, etc…
  • Shovels and/or plows snow.
  • Applies insecticides as directed.
  • Administers water supply when required.
  • Moves furniture and equipment as requested.
  • Operates equipment, i.e. tractors and trucks.
  • Removes trash.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Observes all relevant risk management and infection control policies and procedures, and any applicable quality improvement activities.
  • Attends orientation and ongoing in-service education as required.
  • Observes all general hospital policies, guiding principles, and rules and regulations.
Requirements

Education: High School or GED Preferred

Experience: Minimum 1 to 3 Years

Licenses: Valid RI driver’s license
