Job summary

Kent Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform minor mechanical repairs and installations across the facility with minimal supervision. The role involves responding to emergencies, repairing beds, doors, walls and ceilings, and performing routine preventive maintenance.

The successful candidate will have a High School diploma and at least one year of related experience, with the ability to assess problems and coordinate with the Engineering department when needed.

• Minimum 1 year of job-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies and repair minor mechanical systems across the hospital.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on beds, doors, walls, ceilings and other equipment.
• Install simple fixtures and replace light bulbs and batteries as needed.
• Assess problems and seek supervisor guidance when necessary.
• Attend to heating and air conditioning issues and perform preventative maintenance.

Job Summary

Responsible for making minor mechanical repairs and installations throughout the hospital without on site supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms and elevator problems.
• Repair minor plumbing problems and unblock drains.
• Repair beds and other mechanical equipment.
• Replace light bulbs and batteries as needed.
• Repair and paint doors, walls and ceilings.
• Assess maintenance problems and determine when additional assistance or direction from the supervisor is necessary.
• Attend to routine heating and air condition problems through out the hospital.
• Perform preventative maintenance on hospital facilities equipment.
• Completes the installation of wall hung boards and assemble minor equipment within a timely manner.
• On second sift- Answer Engineering department telephones and respond to repair calls.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A High School diploma and a minimum of one year’s job-related experience or equivalent is required.
