Job summary

Mills Properties in St. Louis is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain our communities, from landscaping to seasonal projects, ensuring a welcoming, well-kept environment for residents.

Pay is based on experience, with typical hourly range of $17 to $18.61, plus bonus opportunities under the Total Rewards program. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Groundskeeping experience preferred.
• Able to work weekends/holidays and in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Keep all areas of the property clean and attractive, including common areas and walkways.
• Maintain curb appeal by removing litter and performing minor landscaping cleanup.
• Assist maintenance technicians to ensure service requests are completed effectively and promptly.
• Report safety concerns or maintenance needs to management.
• Assist with preventative maintenance as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
• Support snow removal as needed.
• Ensure vendors meet contract standards and communicate with residents effectively.
• Keep work areas organized, clean, and safe.

Pay is based on experience — most team members in this role earn between $17–$18.61/hr.

This role qualifies for the following bonus structure:

• Monthly Renewal Bonus
• Quarterly Bonus up to $650 – Performance based

How you will be successful

• Keep all areas of the property clean and attractive, including common areas, walkways, hallways, breezeways, and amenities
• Maintain curb appeal by removing litter, pet waste, weeds, cigarette butts, and performing minor landscaping cleanup
• Assist maintenance technicians to ensure service requests are completed effectively, promptly, and to residents’ satisfaction
• Report any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or maintenance needs to management
• Assist with preventative maintenance as needed
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor
• Serve as an essential team member by assisting with snow removal
• Support management in holding landscaping vendors accountable to contract standards
• Maintain positive communication with residents and provide excellent customer service
• Keep work areas organized, clean, and safe

What you need

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience with groundskeeping preferred
• Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays
• Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.)
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• Adept at building relationships and working in a team environment
• Proven track record of sharing ideas, providing encouragement, building on others’ ideas, giving due appreciation, and bringing out the best in others
