Job summary

You will work independently to perform seasonal groundwork, ensure safety protocols are followed, and assist visitors with directions as needed. This full-time position offers day hours with potential weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 3–5 years groundskeeping or landscaping experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required.
• Ability to handle multiple projects with high attention to detail.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds and perform seasonal groundwork, including sidewalk care, snow removal, lawn care, shrubs & landscaping, parking lots, driveways, fencing, trash pick-up, and set-ups.
• Assist visiting public utilizing the facilities with directions within the building in a courteous manner; obtain and set up needed equipment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs using hand tools, small power tools, and gardening tools.
• Perform regular grounds and landscape maintenance by mowing lawns using riding or push mowers, trimming and edging around trees, shrubs, ground cover, flowers, sidewalks, and buildings.
• Follow safety protocols, wear PPE, and handle materials with proper lifting techniques.
• Seasonal snow removal.
• Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
• Other routine grounds maintenance duties as assigned.

Job description

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the outdoor features of the facility to ensure they meet established standards. This role requires strong landscaping skills, the ability to operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment, and the capacity to work independently. Quality customer service skills are essential.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain grounds and perform seasonal groundwork, including but not limited to sidewalk care, snow removal, lawn care, shrubs & landscaping, parking lots, driveways, fencing, trash pick-up, and set-ups.
• Assist visiting public utilizing the facilities with directions within the building in a courteous manner; obtain and set up needed equipment. Cooperate and share professionally with other members of the staff.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs as needed, including but not limited to proficient use of hand tools, small power tools, and gardening tools.
• Perform regular and directed grounds and landscape maintenance by mowing lawns using riding or push mowers, trimming and edging around trees, shrubs, ground cover, flowers, sidewalks, and buildings.
• Exercise knowledge of proper safety techniques, including but not limited to wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE), handling materials, lifting techniques, and the use of all equipment and climbing apparatus.
• Seasonal snow removal.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols.
• Other routine grounds maintenance duties as assigned.

Requirements (Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Education and/or Experience):

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Three to five years of related groundskeeping or landscaping experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of the business.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record required.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with high attention to detail.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods of time.
• Attention to detail, organization skills, and the ability to work in various physical positions, including standing, sitting, walking, bending, and repetitive movement.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Use of PPE is required in accordance with job tasks.
