Job summary

Sun Communities & Sun Outdoors is seeking a Resort Groundskeeper to maintain landscaping, assist with snow removal where applicable, and support a positive resident experience through courteous service.

Responsibilities include mowing, weed control, plantings, irrigation checks, trash removal, and equipment upkeep. The role requires safety adherence and reliable operation of resort vehicles to cover properties and neighboring locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months of groundskeeping experience in the apartment or manufactured housing industry.
• At least 6 months knowledge and experience in general grounds maintenance techniques.

Responsibilities

• Ensures community is presentable at all times and adheres to curb appeal standards.
• Maintains community vehicle and equipment.
• Picks up trash/debris from common areas and streets daily.
• Inspects irrigation system regularly and performs repairs as needed.
• Performs lawn care, weed control, mulching, pruning, and related tasks as needed.
• Maintains pool(s) by testing and adjusting chemical levels if applicable.
• Follows safety procedures while performing duties.
• Reports maintenance issues to the manager.
• Operates resort vehicles to perform groundskeeping duties and travel within the property.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

They routinely mow lawns, weed, plant flowers, plow snow, and remove debris to ensure community grounds are clean, well maintained, and visually presentable. They also support a positive resident experience by delivering courteous, responsive customer service

Job Duties

• Ensures community is presentable at all times and adheres to Sun's curb appeal standards (Essential)
• Maintains community vehicle and equipment (Essential)
• Picks up trash/debris from common areas and streets on a daily basis. Empties common area trash containers as needed (Essential)
• Inspects irrigation system regularly to ensure it is working properly; repairs as needed (Essential)
• Regularly treats weeds for weed control, weed whip, rake leaves, plant flowers/shrubs, spread mulch/wood chips/stones, trim shrubs and hedges, cut down and remove tree limbs damaged by adverse weather conditions. Performs other lawn care services as needed (Essential)
• If applicable, maintains community pool(s) by testing chemical levels and adjusting appropriately
• Follows safety procedures while performing duties
• Reports all community maintenance issues and concerns identified while performing daily duties, to the manager
• Driving is an essential function of the role and a business necessity as the Resort Groundskeeper must independently complete various tasks such as safely operating resort vehicles to perform groundskeeping duties, traveling across streets and common areas to pick up trash daily, transporting power equipment and commercial machinery for landscaping maintenance and travel within the property and to nearby locations as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• 6 months in previous groundskeeping experience in the apartment or manufactured housing industry (Preferred)
• 6 months in demonstrated knowledge and experience in general grounds maintenance techniques (Required) }
