• Support pruning of trees, shrubs, and hedges.
• Operate golf course vehicles and landscaping tools.
• Perform general grounds maintenance (mulching, aerating, edging beds).
• Assist with projects (laying sod, planting, grading).
• Help with equipment maintenance and cleaning.

About the Role: Maintain, Support, and Enhance

As a Grounds Maintenance / Laborer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the upkeep and appearance of our pristine golf course and surrounding landscapes. Working under the guidance of the superintendent and assistant superintendents, you’ll assist in maintaining the beauty and functionality of the course. This full-time position is ideal for self-motivated individuals who thrive in outdoor environments, enjoy hands-on labor, and take pride in contributing to a high-quality setting.

Your Day-to-Day (Essential Duties):

• Assist with maintaining turf areas, including mowing greens, tees, bunker faces, and steep banks.
• Trim, weed, and edge landscape beds; rake bunkers as needed.
• Support pruning of trees, shrubs, and hedges using appropriate equipment.
• Operate golf course vehicles and motorized landscaping tools, such as mowers, blowers, tractors, and chainsaws.
• Perform general grounds maintenance tasks, including mulching, aerating, removing thatch, and edging flower beds.
• Assist with project work such as laying sod, planting, grading soil, and constructing tees and fairways.
• Help with equipment maintenance, including cleaning, fueling, and basic upkeep.
• Maintain cleanliness by keeping grounds free of debris and litter.
• Follow all safety protocols, use personal protective equipment, and contribute to a clean and organized work environment.

Physical Demands:

• Engage in repetitive motions, including kneeling, bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods.

What You Bring to the Team (Minimum Qualifications):

• Must be at least 18 years old (meeting Florida labor law requirements for equipment operation).
• High school diploma or equivalent; previous experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or general labor preferred.
• Valid driver’s license for operating golf course vehicles.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to stay organized and efficient.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience working on a golf course, landscaping crew, or maintenance team.
• Ability to recognize quality standards and contribute to maintaining a high-end environment.

Working Conditions:

This position requires regular outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and cold. The role may involve exposure to lawn equipment, fertilizers, chemicals, and other environmental elements. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided as needed to ensure safety.
