Job summary

Encore Village of Schaumburg is seeking a full-time Groundskeeper to maintain our grounds and flowerbeds, ensuring a first impression for residents and prospects. The role includes snow removal in winter and light maintenance tasks as needed.

You will work outdoors, perform routine landscaping duties, and support property safety by following established procedures. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Familiar with basic tools and groundskeeping equipment.
• Janitorial or landscaping background helpful.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must pass Motor Vehicle Report screening.
• Must maintain insurability under company vehicle policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds and flowerbeds: mulch, weed, plant flowers, cultivate, edge, water, seasonal cleanup.
• Clean grounds by picking up trash; clean parking lots, curbs, garages, entrances.
• Remove trash; transport materials to disposal area.
• Trim and prune trees and shrubs.
• Ensure safe working environment by following procedures and regulations.
• Perform snow removal, shoveling, salting of sidewalks, winter vehicle cleanup.
• Light maintenance/painting as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Encore Village of Schaumburg is currently hiring for a full time Groundskeeper. The full time Groundskeeper will be responsible for creating the first impression for our current residents as well as prospective residents by maintaining Encore Village of Schaumburg grounds.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Maintain grounds and flowerbeds to include (mulch, weed, plant flowers, cultivate, edge, water, and perform seasonal cleanup).
• Perform general cleaning of grounds by picking up papers and trash; cleaning parking lots, curbs, underground parking garages, and all entrances to building.
• Remove trash by emptying trash containers; transporting materials to disposal area.
• Trim and prune trees and shrubs.
• Maintains safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Perform snow removal, shoveling, snow blower operation, salting sidewalks and entrances, cleaning snow from vehicles.
• Perform light maintenance/painting as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Activities

• Constantly standing, walking, talking, hearing, bending, squatting, reaching, twisting, feeling, grasping, crouching, crawling, kneeling, reaching with hands and arms and repetitive movement.

• Constantly being able to move from waist to shoulder and waist and below height.

Environmental Exposure

• Constantly operating a motor vehicle, hand/power tools, and other equipment.
• Occasionally being exposed to biohazard materials, chemical hazards, and body fluids/blood.
• Required to wear protective clothing, hearing protection, and respiratory protection other than surgical mask.
