Job summary

Allina Health is a not-for-profit health system serving Minnesota and western Wisconsin. The Groundskeeper role supports timely grounds care, maintenance of facility entrances, landscaping, and seasonal prep. You will coordinate with hospital staff, vendors, and contractors, and may supervise others.

A valid driver’s license and DOT certification are preferred. The position offers 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period) with 8-hour shifts spanning Day/Evening/Night, plus on-call weekend

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience to meet required functional competencies.
• 2+ years of general maintenance and grounds keeping.
• 0 to 2 years of basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides Timely and Professional grounds care.
• Maintains all entrances of the facility.
• Fertilizes and cuts grass and trims trees and shrubs.
• Provide preventative maintenance.
• Schedule and facilitate work order/preventative maintenance with hospital staff, vendors, and contractors.
• Reports hazards and/or potential work hazards in facilities to prevent injury.
• Pickup debris around the building and grounds.
• May work with grounds vendors to prep property for each season.
• May assist with sweeping and sidewalk upkeep.
• May maintain and repair underground irrigation systems.
• May maintain parking lots and drives.
• May help with equipment breakdowns.
• May do basic math problems.
• May order supplies and equipment.
• May provide direction and assign work to Groundskeeper Associate.
• Maintenance and repair of parking lots.
• Keep parking lots, sidewalks and driveways snow/ice free in winter.
• Service and repair all grounds equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Principle Responsibilities

• Reports hazards and/or potential work hazards in our facilities in order to prevent injury to self, peers, patients and visitors.
• Pickup all debris, paper cans etc. around the entire building and grounds.
• May work with grounds vendors to ensure property is setup for each season.
• May need to assist with sweeping and sidewalk upkeep.
• May need to maintain and repair underground irrigation system.
• May need to maintain parking lots and drives.
• May need to help with equipment breakdowns.
• May need to do basic math problems.
• May need to order supplies and equipment.
• May provide direction and assign work to the Groundskeeper Associate.
• Provides maintenance and repair of parking lots.
• Keeps parking lots, sidewalks and driveways free of snow and ice during winter months.
• Services and repairs all grounds equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
• 2+ years of general maintenance and grounds keeping
• 0 to 2 years of basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver’s license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment
• Department of Transportation Certified upon hire required
• Physical Demands Medium Work: Lifting weight up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $22.42 to $29.29 per hour The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
