Job summary

Taylor Machine Works, Inc. in Louisville, MS seeks a reliable lodge groundskeeper and kitchen support helper to maintain an attractive, functional facility.

Responsibilities include lawn care, hedge trimming, sprinkler maintenance, cleaning and meal-prep support, and equipment upkeep. A valid driver’s license and flexibility are required; experience with food safety is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 50 lbs and handle physical tasks.
• Knowledge of fertilizers and pesticides.
• Ability to stand for long periods during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Mowing lawns and trimming hedges.
• Maintaining sprinkler and irrigation systems.
• Weatherproofing outdoor areas and securing loose items.
• Gardening duties: planting, fertilizing, weeding, mulching, pest control.
• Operating and maintaining landscaping equipment.
• unloading kitchen supplies and cleaning responsibilities.
• Washing and storing dishes and utensils.
• Kitchen area cleaning and mopping as required.
• Preparing meal ingredients for the cook and ensuring food safety.

Responsible for maintaining an aesthetically pleasing and functional lodge atmosphere.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Mowing lawns
• Trimming hedges
• Maintaining sprinkler and irrigation systems
• Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions by weatherproofing, covering outdoor furniture with tarps, tying down unsecured items, etc.
• Maintaining gardens and lawns, including planting, fertilizing, weeding, soil conditioning, mulching, and applying pesticides
• Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment
• Assisting kitchen staff to unload food supplies from delivery trucks.
• Properly washing and storing all dishes, utensils, cooking instruments and cutting boards.
• Mopping and sweeping the kitchen areas as required.
• Preparing meal ingredients for the cook, which includes washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing ingredients.
• Storing ingredients and food items according to food safety standards.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of gardening products such as fertilizers and pesticides
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• A valid driver's license and good driving record
• Work schedule flexibility

Education And Experience

• Sound knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
