The Greensboro Science Center in Greensboro, NC is seeking a part-time grounds maintenance worker to perform daily campus upkeep, equipment handling, and safety checks before opening to visitors.
You will operate small machinery, mulch and manage debris, and assist with seasonal weather tasks. Applicants must be available mornings (7am–1pm), have a NC driver’s license, and pass a background check.
Job Location: Greensboro Science Center - Greensboro, NC 27455. Position Type: Part Time. Salary Range: $11.55.
Daily morning campus maintenance prior to visitors, substrate management, mulching, equipment servicing & repair, debris and compost management, downed tree clearing, storm wash & erosion control measures, foundational landscape care, invasive plant management, campus safety & perimeter checks, and grounds‑related structural campus developments or repairs. Winter season includes snow/ice management as needed. The position reports to and works with the Horticulture Curation and Lead members.
Applicants must be available to work mornings. Most days start at 7am and end at 1pm. Five‑day work week that may include weekends. A flexible seasonal timeframe may shift with events, daylight hours, or inclement weather.
Must be able to work in various outdoor weather conditions. Perform safe operations of utility vehicles and power equipment, such as Leaf Blower, String Trimmer, Tractor, Skid Steer, etc. Will be trained and certified in the safe use of any power equipment.
Related work experience in grounds care work is desired. Applicants must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
