Sun Communities is seeking a Groundskeeper at Timber Ridge in Fort Collins, CO. The role involves lawn care, weed control, irrigation maintenance, and general grounds upkeep to keep the community visually appealing and safe.

Responsibilities include mowing, planting, debris removal, and occasional pool maintenance. Requires a High School Diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and ability to work outdoors in varying weather. On-call availability is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months groundskeeping experience preferred.
• 6 months knowledge of general grounds maintenance techniques required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to endure outdoor conditions and fluctuating temperatures.
• Ability to work an on-call schedule and after-hours when needed.
• Proficient with basic email and internet usage.
• Ability to work well independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain community appearance and curb appeal to Sun standards.
• Care for and maintain community vehicles, equipment, and grounds.
• Daily trash/debris removal in common areas and streets.
• Inspect and repair irrigation systems as needed.
• Perform weed control, pruning, planting, mulching, and other lawn tasks.
• Attend to pool maintenance and chemical levels if applicable.
• Follow safety procedures and report issues to the manager.
• Occasionally undertake additional duties and special projects.

Job description

Timber Ridge $19-$20 per hour $19-$20 per hour

Overview. Groundskeepers are responsible for a range of landscaping, grounds maintenance, and (where applicable) snow removal duties. They routinely mow lawns, weed, plant flowers, plow snow, and remove debris to ensure community grounds are clean, well maintained, and visually presentable. They also support a positive resident experience by delivering courteous, responsive customer service.

Job Duties

• Ensures community is presentable at all times and adheres to Sun's curb appeal standards (Essential)
• Maintains community vehicle and equipment (Essential)
• Picks up trash/debris from common areas and streets on a daily basis. Empties common area trash containers as needed (Essential)
• Inspects irrigation system regularly to ensure it is working properly; repairs as needed (Essential)
• Regularly treats weeds for weed control, weed whip, rake leaves, plant flowers/shrubs, spread mulch/wood chips/stones, trim shrubs and hedges, cut down and remove tree limbs damaged by adverse weather conditions. Performs other lawn care services as needed (Essential)
• If applicable, maintains community pool(s) by testing chemical levels and adjusting appropriately
• Follows safety procedures while performing duties
• Reports all community maintenance issues and concerns identified while performing daily duties, to the manager
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• 6 months in previous groundskeeping experience in the apartment or manufactured housing industry (Preferred)
• 6 months in demonstrated knowledge and experience in general grounds maintenance techniques (Required)
• Ability to endure fluctuations in temperatures as working conditions require constant outdoor work
• Ability to respond to business needs after normal business hours.
• Ability to work an on-call schedule
• Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and the internet
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Ability to work well independently as well as on a team
• Proficient skills in operating various hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery
