Job summary

The Mather is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the outdoor environment for residents and guests in Evanston, IL. You will perform seasonal cleanup, plant care, pressure washing, and upkeep of walkways and outdoor spaces to ensure welcoming surroundings.

You’ll also assist the Building Services team, remove snow when needed, and help identify improvement opportunities as part of our quality initiative. This is a Monday–Friday role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• Familiar with operations and maintenance, knowledge of basic tools and grounds-keeping equipment.
• Able to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Clear debris, remove trash and maintain grounds and walkways in safe condition.
• Leaf blowing and removal; trash/recycling pickup and clean/outside trash rooms.
• Clean and maintain outdoor furniture; pressure wash areas regularly.
• Water plants and maintain entryways, patios, lighting, and other outdoor areas.
• Assist Building Services as needed; participate in process improvement.

Join our team as a Groundskeeper, where you’ll play an important role in creating a welcoming, well-maintained outdoor environment for our residents, guests, and team members. From beautiful gardens and inviting entryways to clean walkways and comfortable outdoor spaces, your work will help make our community a place people are proud to call home.
You’ll take pride in maintaining our grounds through seasonal cleanup, leaf and debris removal, plant care, pressure washing, and upkeep of outdoor furniture and shared spaces. You’ll also help keep walkways safe throughout the year, including snow and ice removal when needed, while supporting our Building Services team in maintaining an exceptional community environment.

The schedule for this position is: Monday-Friday 7:00am-11:00am.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Clear debris, remove trash and maintain grounds and walkways in safe condition, including:

• Leaf blowing and removal.
• Emptying the trash cans and recycling pickup and helping to clear and maintain the trash rooms.
• Arrange, clean and maintain the condition of the outdoor furniture.
• Pressure wash areas on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Water plants as assigned.
• Clean and maintain the condition of entry ways, patio areas, outdoor lighting and other areas as assigned.
• Inspect and maintain the condition of the watering hoses.
• Remove snow and ice as required during inclement weather conditions.
• Assist Building Services tam as needed.
• Identifies areas for improvement, proposes possible solutions and participates in data collection and process changes as part of the quality Assurance Process Improvement process.

The hourly base wage range provided is a good faith estimate of what Mather reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting. The actual hourly rate offered will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, certifications, years of experience, geographic location, and current market conditions. Eligibility for benefits is dependent on employment status and hours worked per pay period. Hourly Pay Range

$21 - $23 USD
