Job summary

Ardent Communities is seeking dependable Groundskeepers to join our property management team at a multi-family residential apartment community. The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and overall condition of the property's exterior areas, including grounds, amenities, sidewalks, parking areas, and common outdoor spaces.

The ideal candidate is outdoorsy, reliable, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently or with the maintenance team.

Qualifications

• Experience in groundskeeping or property maintenance preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to operate basic landscaping equipment such as string trimmers, blowers, and other hand tools.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Remove weeds, leaves, branches, litter, and debris from the property.
• Maintain and clean sidewalks, walkways, parking areas, and exterior common areas.
• Maintain the appearance of building entrances, patios, outdoor common areas, and other property amenities.
• Empty and maintain exterior trash receptacles.
• Assist with snow and ice removal during winter months, as needed.
• Identify and report property damage, safety hazards, lighting issues, irrigation problems, or maintenance concerns.
• Assist the maintenance team with exterior maintenance and special projects.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Keep equipment, tools, storage areas, and work areas clean and organized.
• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Respond professionally and courteously to resident questions or concerns.
• Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and attractive environment throughout the community.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager.

• Ability to perform physical work, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining the appearance of the property.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a maintenance/property management team.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Physical Requirements

The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and carrying. The employee may be required to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and work outdoors for extended periods.

This position is primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to heat, cold, rain, snow, dust, dirt, noise, and other outdoor conditions. The Groundskeeper must follow appropriate safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
