Job description

The City of Danbury is now hiring Groundskeeper for the Summer 2025 season.

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining an aesthetically-pleasing and functional outdoor space at Candlewood Lake Park. Essential Functions include but are not limited to the daily cleaning of general park grounds and debris pickup. This position is up to 32 hours per week. Candlewood Lake Park is a 7 day a week operation that requires individuals to be able to work a flexible work schedule to include mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays during the Summer season. Applicants must be 18 years old as you will be required to operate lawn equipment. Applicants need to be able to work in a variety of weather conditions as the job is outdoor. The applicant will also be required to check, clean the bathrooms and maintain the bathrooms at the lake every two hours. Applicants are required to wear ankle high safety composite boots. PPE, Personal Protective Equipment (ear plugs, safety goggles, gloves) will be provided. This position operates Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend.
