Job summary

Insight is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain campus lawn care and snow removal operations. You will perform mowing, trimming, planting, and equipment upkeep with emphasis on safety for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include following work orders, PM schedules, and coordinating with the director on issues. The role requires attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to handle emergencies and basic repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; trade school or prior work experience preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal communication while interacting with others.
• Excellent written communications for creating reports and reporting issues.
• Ability to build and maintain a good working relationship with others.
• Must have a reliable phone and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Attend mandatory training and pass the associated test.
• Utilize work order, PM, and task programs.
• Talks with director about concerns or issues.
• Prioritizes and plans daily work to meet orders and PMs.
• May perform Security duties when required.
• Move furniture and supplies with Maintenance staff as needed.
• Supervise and work with students performing community service.
• Troubleshoot problems, order parts, and complete repairs to equipment.
• Contact manufacturer for technical assistance and place service/repair orders.
• Operate hand tools and power tools.
• Complete minor electrical repairs on equipment.
• Inspect and test lawn sprinkler systems and equipment.
• Report safety or fire hazards found on site.
• Report Security violations observed.
• Conduct campus rounds to ensure sidewalks and equipment are in proper operation.
• Ensure chemical labeling on containers is correct.
• Ensure equipment is in proper location.
• Report defective equipment to Facilities office.
• Report hazards to department director or facilities office.
• Follow Infection Control procedures; assist in evacuations if needed.
• May transport biohazard wastes on campus as required.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine to skilled maintenance duties involving mowing, trimming, planting, plowing, shoveling and salting. Performs a variety of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on lawn care and snow removal equipment and other related duties with priority given to patient, staff, visitor safety. Requires sound judgement and rapid decision making abilities during system failures to avoid injury to persons or damage to equipment. The worker may be required to perform any and all duties listed below

Duties

• Required to attend mandatory training and pass any associated test
• Required to utilize program for work orders, pms, and tasks
• Talks with director about concerns or issues
• Prioritizes and plans out daily work routine to keep up with work orders and pms
• At times can be required to perform Security duties
• At times works with Maintenance staff to move furniture and or supplies
• Has the ability to supervise and work with students performing community service
• Trouble shoots problems, orders parts, and completes repairs to equipment
• Contacts manufacturer for technical assistance when needed and helps place orders for service and or repairs

• At times may be requested to transport bio hazard wastes on campus — clinics to hospital

Qualifications

• Previous experience in lawncare a plus
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills while interacting with others
• Excellent written communications for creating reports and reporting issues
• High school diploma and trade school or prior work experience
• Ability to build and maintain a good working relationship with others
• Must have a reliable phone
• Must have a valid drivers license and be able to meet insurance requirements

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work from ladders, stoop, bend, and push or pull carts and equipment
• Must be able to stand, or walk for long periods, and be able to respond quickly to incidents
• Ability to remain calm and composed during emergencies or high pressure situationsMust be mentally and physically fit in the event of high risk interactions
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs
• Must be able to understand and follow lock out / tag out procedures

OSHA Exposure Classification

• May come in contact with blood or body fluids or other Bio-Hazards
• May be in contact with water and cleaning solutions throughout the shift
• Risk of exposure to communicable diseases
• Risk or exposure to high temperatures — electrical — moving parts
