Job summary

Green Hills in Ames, IA is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain our 30+ acre campus and support landscape upkeep. You will mow, edge, trim, and assist with snow removal during winter months, ensuring safety and clean grounds.

You should be able to read, write, perform basic math, follow instructions, and lift moderately. We offer scholarships, rewards points, comprehensive benefits, and more, with a confidential EAP program.

Qualifications

• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Able to read, write, and perform simple math.
• Use your judgement to follow instructions and operating procedures.
• Can perform moderate physical effort involving heavy lifting on occasional benefits.
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
• Can pass a motor vehicle register check, pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assists with turf maintenance (mowing, edging, and trimming) including the cultivation and care of shrubs, trees, and flowers.
• Assists, during winter months, with snow/ice removal efforts to ensure safety. This requires being on-call & working varied hours as needed to keep the campus grounds maintained.
• Assure the grounds and walkways are well-groomed and free of trash, debris, and hazards.
• Operate a variety of equipment with and without attachments, including tillers, hole diggers, and snow plows.

Green Hills is actively looking for a hospitality-minded Groundskeeper, to join our growing team! The Groundskeeper is responsible for landscape maintenance and repairs of a broad scope to our 30+ acres.
