Job summary

Green Hills is seeking a hospitality-minded Groundskeeper to maintain 30+ acres and support landscape operations in Ames, IA. The role emphasizes turf care, seasonal snow removal, and safe, well-kept grounds for residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and perform simple math.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Able to pass motor vehicle register checks, pre-employment drug screen, and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assists with turf maintenance (mowing, edging, and trimming) including shrubs, trees, and flowers.
• Winter months: snow/ice removal, on-call and varied hours.
• Grounds and walkways must be well-groomed and free of trash, debris, hazards.
• Operate equipment with/without attachments, including tillers, hole diggers, and snow plows.

Green Hills is actively looking for a hospitality-minded Groundskeeper, to join our growing team! The Groundskeeper is responsible for landscape maintenance and repairs of a broad scope to our 30+ acres.

YOU ARE EXCITED ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE YOU WILL…

• Assists with turf maintenance (mowing, edging, and trimming) including the cultivation and care of shrubs, trees, and flowers.
• Assists, during winter months, with snow/ice removal efforts to ensure safety. This requires being on-call & working varied hours as needed to keep the campus grounds maintained.
• Assure the grounds and walkways are well-groomed and free of trash, debris, and hazards.
• Operate a variety of equipment with and without attachments, including tillers, hole diggers, and snow plows.
