Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds and turf of the golf course in playing condition as directed by supervisors.
• Connects hose and sprinkler systems to irrigate turf as needed.
• Digs and rakes ground to prepare greens, grades, and clean traps; repairs rosebuds.
• Plants, trims, and sprays trees and shrubs.
• Operate equipment such as mowers, turf vac, and aerifiers; perform basic preventive maintenance.
• Loads/unloads materials and cleans machinery after use; reports problems to supervisor.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must comply with all department policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Connects hose and sprinkler systems at designated points on course to irrigate turf.
• Digs and rakes ground to prepare new greens, grades and cleans traps, and repairs rosebuds.
• Plants, trims, and sprays trees and shrubs.
• Safety operates equipment and mowers and pluggers used for various course maintenance needs.
• Cleans machinery after each use.
• Inspects machinery/reports equipment problems to supervisor.
• Makes necessary minor adjustments to equipment.
• Loads and unloads materials.
• Trims trees and removes cuttings.
• Collects and empties litter cans.
• Cleans gutters, drains, and culverts.
• Cuts grass, weeds, and bushes.
• Operates turf vac, skip loader, fairway and rough aerifier.
• May operate smaller equipment as directed by his/her supervisor.
• Ensures that the equipment cooling system is working at all times; refills fuel and oil daily; cleans equipment daily, and reports equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager immediately.
• Provides basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed by the equipment manager or supervisor and returns equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility.
• Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
