Job summary

Woodfield Boca Raton is seeking a skilled Grounds Worker/Landscaper to maintain the grounds and turf of the golf course in playing condition as directed by supervisors. The role requires flexibility to work weekends and holidays and to support various course maintenance tasks across the facility in Boca Raton, FL.

Responsibilities include irrigation setup, mowing, trimming, and basic preventive maintenance on equipment, as well as assisting with debris removal and general site upkeep.

Qualifications

• Basic grounds care and turf maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to operate golf course maintenance equipment.
• Experience driving mowers, tractors and similar equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds and turf of golf course as directed by supervisors.
• Connect hoses and sprinkler systems at designated points to irrigate turf.
• Plant, trim, and spray trees and shrubs; perform routine cleaning and minor repairs on equipment.
• Ensure equipment is fueled, oiled and cleaned daily; report issues promptly.
• Operate turf vac, aerifier, and related maintenance machinery.
• Assist with loading/unloading materials and general site upkeep.

Job description

Woodfield Boca Raton is seeking a skilledGrounds Worker/Landscaper.Responsibilities includemaintaininggrounds and turf of golf course in playing condition as directed by supervisors.Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must comply with all department policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Connects hose and sprinkler systems at designated points on course to irrigate turf.
• Digs and rakes ground to prepare new greens, grades and cleans traps, and repairs rosebeds.
• Plants, trims, and sprays trees and shrubs.
• Safety operates equipment and mowers and pluggers used for various course maintenance needs.
• Cleans machinery after each use.
• Inspects machinery/reports equipment problems to supervisor.
• Makes necessary minor adjustments to equipment.
• Loads and unloads materials.
• Trims trees and removes cuttings.
• Collects and empties litter cans.
• Cleans gutters, drains, and culverts.
• Cuts grass, weeds, and bushes.
• Operates turf vac, skip loader, fairway and rough aerifier.
• May operate smaller equipment as directed by his/her supervisor.
• Ensures that the equipment cooling system is working at all times; refills fuel and oil daily; cleans equipment daily, and reports equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager immediately.
• Provides basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed by the equipment manager or supervisor and returns equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility.
• Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have good written and verbal communication skills
• Must have valid and current Florida driver's license
• Must have experience with driving mowers, tractors, and push mowers.
