Job summary

BrightView Landscapes, LLC is seeking an entry-level Grounds Person Tree Care I to support tree trimming and removal operations by handling ground-level tasks, debris disposal, and brush clearing. This role requires no prior experience and focuses on safe, basic field duties.

You will assist with ground operations, operate basic powered equipment under supervision, use common hand tools, and adhere to PPE and safety procedures while maintaining a tidy, safe work site.

Qualifications

• Follow established directions and procedures related to roping and rigging, routine maintenance, equipment adjustments, and reporting of malfunctioning or unsafe equipment.
• Perform basic arithmetic relevant to arboricultural field operations (weight, volume, distance).
• Apply critical thinking to interpret and carry out instructions and adapt to field variables.
• Use standardized hand signals to communicate clearly with climbers and crew members.
• Verbally communicate with the public to provide clear directions around the work zone.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic ground-level tree care operations in support of pruning, removal, and maintenance activities.
• Demonstrate introductory level proficiency in the safe operation of powered equipment (woodchippers, trucks, blowers).
• Use hand tools such as hand saws, pole pruners, rakes, and shovels effectively and safely to complete tasks.
• Select and use PPE per safety standards and company protocols.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure job site; manage traffic and pedestrian control; protect the work zone.
