St. Norbert College is seeking a Grounds Technician to maintain turf, fields, and gardens across campus. The role includes mowing, irrigation, seeding, weed control, snow removal, and landscaping tasks.

The position requires 1–2 years of grounds experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to operate turf and snow equipment. On-call duties are required in winter, with a regular schedule Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of grounds maintenance experience.
• Forklift and aerial lift certification preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license.
• Knowledge of turf, flowers, shrubs and trees maintenance.
• Ability to operate turf maintenance and snow removal equipment.

Responsabilités

• Maintain turf areas across campus, student houses, Schneider Stadium, and Nick’s Field, including mowing, irrigation, seeding, fertilizing, and aeration.
• Maintain artificial turf on football, baseball, and softball fields.
• Perform snow and ice removal from parking lots, sidewalks, and campus streets using power equipment and ice-melting products.
• Remove leaves and debris with power sweepers, blowers, and rakes; clean grounds facilities and equipment.
• Maintain trees, shrubs, perennials, and annual flowers; prune, mulch, and fertilize.
• Collect and dispose of litter; oversee two student employees during the summer.
• Other duties as assigned.

St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally ranked, private Catholic liberal arts college, is seeking a Grounds Technician to help maintain and enhance the beauty, safety, and functionality of our campus. Responsibilities include maintaining turf, athletic fields, annual flower displays, perennial gardens, shrubs, and trees; performing winter maintenance of campus grounds, streets, parking lots, and sidewalks; and operating landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment and fleet vehicles. This position also participates in the College’s snow removal on-call program.The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. In addition to the normal work schedule, this position is on call for snow and ice removal from November 15 through April 15. On-call responsibilities may require work during nighttime hours, weekends, and holidays as weather conditions warrant.Specific responsibilities:Maintain turf areas throughout campus, at student houses, Schneider Stadium, and Nick’s Field. Responsibilities include mowing, irrigation, sodding, seeding, fertilizing, weed and insect control, and aeration. Maintain artificial turf on the football, baseball, and softball fields.Perform snow and ice removal from parking lots, sidewalks, and campus streets using power equipment, hand tools, and ice-melting products.Remove leaves and other plant debris from campus using power sweepers, backpack blowers, and hand rakes.Maintain trees, shrubs, perennials, and annual flowers throughout campus, at student houses, Schneider Stadium, and Nick’s Field. Responsibilities include planting, removal, pruning, fertilizing, mulching, and insect control.Collect and dispose of litter throughout campus, around student houses, at Schneider Stadium, and at Nick’s Field.
