Job summary

Wind Creek Hospitality is seeking a Grounds Technician I to perform routine and preventive maintenance on grounds, turf, pavements, walkways, ponds, pools, and fountains. This entry-level role runs 6am–2:30pm with shift changes as needed to meet business needs.

The position requires working outdoors, operating lawn equipment, and lifting, with exposure to noise and chemicals. Candidates should meet the listed requirements and be available for odd hours and travel for training as necessary.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled to complete GED within six months.
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
• Six (6) months of grounds maintenance or landscaping experience.
• Valid state driver’s license and insurable driving record for company vehicles.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Willing to travel and participate in training as required.
• Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke environment.
• Must have Tribal Gaming License or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Performs outdoor work and some tasks may be performed regardless of weather conditions.
• Operates edgers, lawn mowers, tractors, spreaders, fertilizers, aerators and other machinery.
• Maintains and cleans the facility and grounds including pools and outdoor structures.
• Applies chemicals to clarify and sanitize pools and surfaces.
• Work involves exposure to noise, dirt, odors, and chemicals.
• Other duties as assigned.

This is an entry level position.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs work outdoors and some tasks may be performed regardless of weather conditions
• May require working while exposed to loud noises, dirt, dust, tobacco smoke and foul odors
• Work is characterized by the necessity for considerable physical exertion, by close daily contact with unpleasant materials
• Operates edgers, lawn mowers, tractors, spreaders, fertilizers, aerators, and other motorized machinery
• Work involves heavy lifting and exposure to fumes, chemicals and other noxious odors, machinery with moving parts and noise
• Maintains, cleans and dresses the facility and grounds including pools, building's exterior, outside structures and parkway areas.
• Applies chemicals, as directed to clarify and sanitize swimming pools, brushes and cleans all pool surfaces
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
• Six (6) months of Commercial or Municipal grounds maintenance and/or landscaping experience- required
• Must have a valid and current State Driver's License and an insurable driving record for purposes of driving company vehicles as required
• Must have good hearing and eyesight
• Must have ability to read, write and understand English
• Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
• Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position
• Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
