Job summary

Service Corporation International in Tumwater, WA seeks an entry-level Groundskeeper to maintain the cemetery and funeral home properties. You will mow, trim, water, and care for flower beds, and assist in burials and related ceremonies with a team.

This role requires physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in all weather, with a Tuesday–Saturday schedule from 8:30 am to 5 pm. Training on safety and equipment is provided; prior landscaping experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months relevant experience in landscaping or general labor.
• Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment as listed in responsibilities.
• Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass, plows snow, waters lawns, fertilizes and trims shrubs, tends flower beds and regularly inspects assigned work areas to ensure proper standards are maintained.
• Operates lawn and grounds equipment including push and power mowers, snow blowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers and other related power equipment.
• Participates on teams for openings and closings for interments, entombments and inurnments.
• Assists in determining the location and layout of individual graves with assistance, complying with verification procedures.

Performs all groundskeeping and maintenance matters on the properties and maintains the overall appearance of a cemetery, mausoleum or funeral home location.
