Bordentown Regional School District – Anticipated Grounds Position

The Bordentown Regional School District is seeking a reliable and hardworking Groundskeeper to maintain the appearance, safety, and functionality of district grounds and athletic fields. The ideal candidate will take pride in ensuring that all outdoor areas are well‑kept, safe for students and staff, and aesthetically maintained year‑round.

Start Date: Anticipated Opening – Flexible Start Date

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain all district grounds, including lawns, athletic fields, playgrounds, and landscaped areas
• Perform mowing, edging, trimming, and seasonal planting
• Maintain and line athletic fields in accordance with district schedules and event requirements
• Remove snow and ice from walkways, driveways, and entrances (including early morning shifts when needed)
• Operate and maintain grounds equipment such as mowers, tractors, blowers, and trimmers
• Perform general maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, fence upkeep, and debris removal
• Assist with waste removal and recycling duties
• Monitor grounds for safety hazards and report issues promptly
• Support custodial and facilities teams during special events and emergency situations
• Follow all district safety procedures and OSHA regulations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, or facilities experience preferred
• Knowledge of athletic field maintenance is a plus
• Ability to operate and perform basic maintenance on groundskeeping equipment
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license required
• Black Seal Low Pressure License preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work

• Satisfactorily completed criminal history check, which includes fingerprinting. This requirement is the financial responsibility of the employee
